Model Overview

The Roewe E6 is an all-electric compact sedan launched by SAIC Motor New Energy in July 2025. Developed by Roewe to cater to commercial mobility fleets and value-focused family buyers, the lineup is available in 4 variants: 450km Travel Edition, 520km Travel Edition, 520km Taxi Edition, and 520km Shencheng Edition, with an official price tag ranging from RM168,800 to RM176,800. Highlighting "long range, generous space, and high value-for-money", its key competitors include class-equivalent electric sedans such as the BYD Qin PLUS EV.

Design Language

The Roewe E6 adopts a clean and dynamic design language. Up front, a honeycomb grille with chrome surround is paired with sharp polygonal LED headlights and daytime running lights, delivering strong visual presence. The side profile features sharp, sweeping character lines complemented by high-profile tyres that accentuate its sporty stance; the rear styling echoes the front with neat, crisp tail lamps, presenting a youthful and distinct look. Body dimensions measure 4,792 mm in length, 1,828 mm in width, and 1,496 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. Both front and rear track widths are 1,547 mm. The approach angle is 14° and the departure angle is 18°. Available exterior colours include Bright White and Andes Grey.

Inside, the cabin takes on a rounded, minimalist aesthetic. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The seats are trimmed in faux leather, offering thick cushioning and supportive bolstering, and feature a full-folding rear seat to expand boot space. The interior is finished in a predominantly black theme.

Powertrain and Performance

The Roewe E6 is powered across the range by a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor. It delivers a maximum output of 95 kW (approx. 129 PS) and a peak torque of 201 Nm, paired with a single-speed direct-drive transmission (fixed gear ratio). In terms of official 0-100 km/h sprint times, the 450km variant clocks 9.0 seconds, while the 520km variant takes 9.4 seconds. Top speed is rated at 150 km/h, with power sent to the front wheels (FWD).

Energy is stored in a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack supplied by United Auto Battery System (UABS). The 450km variant gets a 42.8 kWh battery, while the 520km variant carries a 50.8 kWh unit, offering CLTC-rated electric ranges of 450 km and 520 km, respectively. On DC fast charging, a 30% to 80% state of charge takes 0.33 hours (approx. 20 minutes) for the 450km version and 0.35 hours (approx. 21 minutes) for the 520km version. Power consumption stands at 10.6 kWh/100 km. The vehicle also comes standard with a 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power supply function.

Chassis and Handling

Under the skin, the Roewe E6 employs a front MacPherson strut independent suspension and a rear torsion beam semi-independent setup. Steering is handled via Electric Power Steering (EPS). Braking hardware consists of front ventilated discs and rear solid discs, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It rides on 195/60 R16 tyres. The minimum turning radius is 5.2 m. Kerb weight is rated at 1,380 kg for the 450km variant and 1,420 kg for the 520km variant. The chassis has been professionally tuned to ensure ride comfort during daily urban commutes.

Cabin and Features

The Roewe E6 comes fitted with a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, CarLife, and HUAWEI HiCar smartphone connectivity. It features a standard 4-door, 5-seater sedan layout, offering a standard boot volume of 560 litres. The seats are wrapped in faux leather. Drivers can select from three drive modes: Sport, Eco, and Standard/Comfort. The equipment list is utility-oriented, effortlessly fulfilling fundamental daily commuting needs.

Safety and Driver Assistance

In terms of active safety, the Roewe E6 comes standard across all variants with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TCS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) display is standard. For passive safety, it is equipped with front dual airbags and front side airbags. Reverse parking sensors and a reverse camera are also fitted as standard.

For driver assistance, the Roewe E6 is equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Features include Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centring Assist (LCA), Active Lane Change Assist (ALCA), and Navigation-guided Pilot (NOP) assist. The vehicle also comes with a blind-spot camera display and automated parking assist. The complete vehicle is backed by a 3-year or 100,000 km manufacturer warranty.

Market Performance and Reception

Positioned in the RM150,000 to RM180,000 EV sedan segment, the Roewe E6 primarily targets commercial e-hailing fleets and value-driven private households. Backed by SAIC Motor's engineering expertise, its class-leading interior room—afforded by a 4,792 mm length and 2,750 mm wheelbase—along with a CLTC range of up to 520 km, delivers a distinctive competitive edge in its price tier. Media reviews praise the vehicle for its well-rounded balance of cabin space, driving range, and smart equipment. However, sales figures indicate modest demand—recording 367 units in May 2026, with a trailing 12-month cumulative volume of 8,895 units. As an essential strategic offering in SAIC Roewe's compact EV lineup, the Roewe E6 combines "long range, large space, and high value-for-money", serving as a practical and economical electric mobility option for both e-hailing operators and family owners.
